How this tool works
Remove Watermark Annotations: a practical guide
Inspects each annotation subtype and removes only Watermark annotations. Links, comments and other annotation types remain in place.
Steps to use this tool
- Select a PDF with Watermark annotations.
- Run Remove PDF Watermark Annotations.
- Inspect the watermark and verify other comments remain.
Tested example — 19 October 2026
The fixture loses its Watermark annotation while a separate Text comment is preserved.
Selected sample: watermark.pdf (804 bytes, 1 pages).
Measured output: watermark-watermarks.pdf — 804 bytes; 1 PDF pages.

Test environment: Node + native canvas + actual site-ui.js form integration in LinkeDOM Representative sample; inspect your own output.
Check the result
Check that a known watermark annotation disappeared. Confirm that unrelated comments and links still exist in the exported copy.
Files and privacy
The public tool processes selected documents in your browser. It does not send document bytes to a conversion server. The page and its bundled libraries still download from this website. Keep the original, use an up-to-date browser and inspect your output before sharing it. See the privacy policy for hosting and support information.
If processing fails
A document without supported Watermark annotations returns a specific error. Painting over baked-in content would be a different operation and is not presented as watermark removal.
Implementation notes and sample evidence updated 2026-10-19. These notes describe the supported operation and its limits.
