Edit PDF Metadata: a practical guide

Writes the document information fields from the values you enter. Empty fields are deliberately cleared. Keywords use a comma-separated list.

Steps to use this tool

Select a PDF.
Enter or clear the supported metadata fields.
Save and inspect Document Properties in a viewer.

Tested example — 19 October 2026

The sample changes the title to New title and clears the author field.

Selected sample: sample.pdf (2421 bytes, 2 pages).

Measured output: sample-metadata.pdf — 2438 bytes; 2 PDF pages.

Check the result

Open Document Properties in a PDF viewer and read the stored values. Check the visible pages separately because changing metadata does not rewrite names printed inside the document.

Files and privacy

The public tool processes selected documents in your browser. It does not send document bytes to a conversion server. The page and its bundled libraries still download from this website. Keep the original, use an up-to-date browser and inspect your output before sharing it. See the privacy policy for hosting and support information.

If processing fails

A metadata edit cannot fix text that appears in the page artwork. If an unsupported or encrypted source cannot be read, use a readable authorized copy before editing properties.
