Compare PDF Text

Compare the actual extracted text of two PDF documents.

    How this tool works

Compare PDF Text: a practical guide

Reads both text layers and checks the full strings, not their lengths. A PDF report shows whether the text matches and includes each changed page from both versions.

    Steps to use this tool

    1. Select exactly two PDFs.
    2. Run Compare PDF to compare extracted page text.
    3. Review reported differences against both source documents.

    Tested example — 19 October 2026

Equal-length strings Apple 9000 and Apple 1000 are reported as different in the sample.

    Selected sample: different.pdf (1027 bytes, 1 pages); equal-length.pdf (1027 bytes, 1 pages).

    Measured output: comparison-report.pdf — 8520 bytes; 1 PDF pages.

Equal-length strings Apple 9000 and Apple 1000 are reported as different in the sample.
Page 1 rendered from the actual automated sample PDF output; this is not a browser screenshot.

Test environment: Node + native canvas + actual site-ui.js form integration in LinkeDOM Representative sample; inspect your own output.

    Check the result

Read the reported differing page text and locate it in each version. A matching text report does not mean pictures, formatting or digital signatures are identical.

    Files and privacy

The public tool processes selected documents in your browser. It does not send document bytes to a conversion server. The page and its bundled libraries still download from this website. Keep the original, use an up-to-date browser and inspect your output before sharing it. See the privacy policy for hosting and support information.

    If processing fails

A scanned version needs OCR before its wording can be compared meaningfully. If the files use unusual encodings, compare copied text with the report before relying on its differences.
