When PDF helps
A PDF can keep the intended page arrangement, but text must still be selectable for reliable copying. Open the exported file, select the contact details and paste them into a plain-text editor. If the order is wrong, simplify the source layout.
When DOCX helps
Some employers request DOCX so a recruitment system or reviewer can edit or parse the document. Use the requested format. Do not rename a PDF to .docx; the extension does not convert the contents.
Avoid invented guarantees
No formatter can guarantee that every applicant-tracking system will accept or rank a resume. This site’s resume builder formats only information you supply. It does not invent experience, analyze an employer’s screening model or promise a hiring outcome.
