Choose a profile deliberately
Different archival requirements can call for different PDF/A parts and conformance levels. Ask the receiving archive which profile it accepts before choosing an exporter. Some requirements affect fonts, color information, metadata, encryption and embedded content.
Use a real converter and validator
Export from an application with PDF/A support, then validate the result with a tool such as veraPDF. Read the validation report and resolve failures in the source or converter settings. A normal PDF reader opening the file does not prove archival conformance.
Availability on this site
The supplied local engine does not implement standards-compliant PDF/A conversion. The legacy tool URL stays accessible with this limitation stated and no conversion button. It no longer rewrites metadata and falsely labels an ordinary PDF as archival.
